A sterling silver pencil holder with a Geo Rowney pencil.
The holder protects the pencil when closed, and the lid can be put on the body when in use. There is a silver loop at the end of the holder, which could be attached to a necklace or other chain.
The holder is hallmarked and made in Chester, England. There is a date on the holder - 6th May 1931. Presumably, it was originally presented as a gift or to commemorate a special date.
The holder shows some signs of wear as is to be expected of a piece that is over 90 years old.
The holder when closed (excluding the ring) is 8 cm long.
