An antique artists’ box of Lacroix / Lechertier Barbe china colours.
Larger than the more common small boxes, this mahogany box with brass detailing contains a wealth of china pigments.Included are 20 china powder pigments, half of which are fully sealed and have delightful names such as Vert Pomme and Bleu Ceil Azure. There are also 8 tubes of colour which are all still soft, 6 colour pencils, 7 of the most delightful card pots with ceramic powders and one small glass muller.
The mahogany box and contents are in very good condition.
The box has a tin tray with brass handles and brass stay to keep the box open.
When closed the box measures 39 cm x 29.6 cm x 7.5 cm.
